Brand New to a Large Powerboat? We Can Help!
Bob and Shirley's Insurance Company asked that they receive formal training before embarking on their Great Loop adventures. Pam and I were delighted to work with them to learn their "new to them" McKinna! Here's what they had to say upon completion:
"Bob and Pam are the best! Even when the new boat experience was overwhelming and I was ready to sell at the first offer, Bob's even keel approach and patient manner kept our training exercise on target. Very knowledgeable and experienced. He delivers his instruction in understandable terms and goes at a pace dictated by the client. Highly recommend his services."

"Our dream comes true! Captain Bob Shircliff delivers our new-to-us 52' Jefferson Rivanna to her new home port of Rockport, Texas. A journey of 1400 miles, that began in North Palm Beach, Florida. As I reflect now, this was a journey only made possible by Bob's tremendous knowledge base, experience, and keen pre-trip and ongoing planning abilities, as well as his obvious love of boating, all matched up with his exceptional boat handling skills. What was most pleasing was his commitment to the safety of all aboard, his constant care and treatment of the vessel, as if it was his own, and his openness to share his knowledge and teach his skills to us. Together we watched it done, we did it, and we learned. We experienced several situations where his thorough understanding of vessel systems became obvious, making repairs underway and in the dock seem effortless. We not only moved our new boat safely to Texas, we gained a true friend in Captain Shircliff for years to come!"

"Our gratitude is immeasurable for Bob and his expert captain's skills. He safely and professionally handled our boat, transporting it from Kentucky Lake to Lake Michigan, just like he would his own. He left it in better condition than he found it, kept us readily informed on his progress, and treated us like family. We would recommend and endorse Captain Bob without a single hesitation - and we do!"

Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor Mechanical Issues....
Captain Bob and his charming wife Pam safely delivered our new-to-us, Jefferson 42, 1000 miles from Aqua Yacht Harbor, at the top of the Tenn-Tom to southwest Florida. When our schedule allowed joining them, both were engaged in familiarizing us with the craft. As sometimes happens, a combination of mechanical and weather delays made portions of this one thousand mile trip unpleasant, but Bob and Pam never lost their sense of humor or dedication to getting the delivery complete. Regardless of the hurdle, Bob went way beyond any reasonable call of duty to minimize its impact on the journey. We also appreciated the many improvements he made to our boat along the way.
We could not have chosen a better delivery team!

"As former sail boaters, we had a lot to learn to run our 48' DeFever trawler. Captain Bob was a great help in teaching us how to handle such a large, different, and complex vessel. He demonstrated confidence in our abilities to learn and understand how to maneuver the boat, even when we were unsure of ourselves. He willingly shared his wealth of experiences on how to run and operate the boat with useful checklists and planning aids. Captain Bob equipped us well for our Great Loop Adventure!"

Bruce had a dream of doing the Great Loop and bought a 466 Carver for the trip. His Insurance Company asked that he be trained and signed off by a licensed Captain. Here's what Bruce had to say after training with Captain Bob:
"Bob, Thank you for your in-depth training and guidance with my new yacht SEA TREK. The training on maintenance and safety was exactly what I was looking for from an experienced captain. Also the cruising, maneuvering and docking practice did wonders for my confidence not to mention how much fun I had during the five days of training. I now feel ready to start my adventure on the Great Loop and hope to meet many other loopers as nice as you and Pam."

Monk 36 Delivery up the Tenn-Tom
"I recently used Captain Bob's Yacht Service to move my 36' trawler from Demopolis, AL to Lake Barkley, KY. I cannot say enough great things about my experience. Bob is a true professional, bringing many years and miles of boating experience with him. He was very thorough in planning our scheduled stops, researching potential lock closures, looking at river water levels and constantly staying on top of weather forecasts. Not only does he execute the delivery, he helps his clients improve their boat handling skills, teaches them many safety and maintenance tips and leaves them with a list of recommended improvements that need to be addressed. I highly recommend Captain Bob as a delivery and training skipper!"

Delivering a 60 Foot Beauty
"We've cruised aboard our boat extensively with Bob and Pam, so when we needed a crew to move our 60' Grand Alaskan from West Palm Beach back to the boat's home berth on Florida's west coast, we immediately called them. They are very careful cruisers, so we knew our yacht would be in good hands. They kept us totally informed while the boat was in transit, and we found her in perfect, clean condition when we arrived back at the boat. We highly recommend CBYS."

"We were fortunate to have the help of Captain Bob moving our Marine Trader from Beaufort, SC to Norfolk, VA this month. His excellence in communication was evident before we met. His knowledge of boats was beneficial en route but continues as I make my way through the pages of his notes. A former live aboard sailor, I still learned more about this boat than I could ever have on my own. Bob has a great sense of humor that made an otherwise tedious trip fun. And in his attention to every detail, he left the boat spotless. Capt Bob would be my first recommendation to anyone moving a boat."
